Dynamics of the Evaporation of Intercepted Precipitation during the Last Two Decades over China

The evaporation of intercepted precipitation (Ei) is an important component evapotranspiration. Investigating the spatial and temporal variations Ei its driving factors can improve our understanding water energy balance in context China’s greening. This study investigated variation across China during 2001−2020 using PML ET product with a resolution 8 days 500 m. results showed that generally decreased from southeast to northwest, which was contributed by coupled effect vegetation coverage China. Generally, increasing trend over last two decades average changing rate 0.45 mm/year. varied greatly among different regions, most obvious change occurring tropical humid regions. Precipitation climatic factor interannual past decades, contribution 30.18~37.59%. Relative humidity second following precipitation. Temperature contracting thermal rates NDVI LAI followed similar pattern. Both increased along moisture gradient east west south north.
